Sunday School
Please consider helping out this fall to make our Sunday school a wonderful experience for our kids. Call the church office for more information.
Lectors
If you would like to be a lector or usher for service, you can find a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board located next to the kitchen in the multipurpose room. If you choose to be a lector, you will be sent copies of the lessons a few days prior to your designated Sunday, along with instructions.
Coffee Hosts
Also on the bulletin board, there is a sign-up sheet for coffee hosts. If you are reluctant to serve, call Mavis Rubesh at 721-5976 for more information. Your interest in serving will be appreciated.
Hospice
Do you have a couple of hours you could spare weekly? DO you like to "feel needed"? Do you think those that are sick and elderly could use a little more T.L.C. in their lives? If so, call Marilyn Fifield, Volunteer Coordinator at St. Luke's Hospice at 249-6105 or email her at mfifield@slhduluth.com.
Program Needs Volunteers
Thurs. between 11 AM and 2 PM at the West Food Shelf, 4831 Grand Ave.
Call Meg at 727-2391. In 2 hours per week you could provide valuable assistance with sorting our Household Donations or doing Data Entry work. If you are available any day Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 2 PM on a weekly basis and are willing to help call Terri at 727-2391.
Cleaners and Handy Men and Women
Church Property & Work Day: Many hands makes light work. Come join us as we meet the first Saturday of the month.
Thrivent Builds - Habitat for Humanity
Habitat is building a home on 418 E 7th St in Duluth. They are looking for people who would like to help out - in August they will be framing so we need some hammerers, September - dry walling, November - painting and finishing project by Thanksgiving.
Our congregation has the opportunity to help out by having a volunteer step-up and be the "Champion" to coordinate helpers and/or a fundraiser for this event. They are in need of $4000 for the local support of this project. ($4K has already been raised locally) Thrivent contributes 65%, Habitat 25% and the last 10% locally. Anyone interested in helping with this venture, PLEASE talk to Carleen in the office.
Telecare Friends needs volunteers
To provide phone reassurance and occasional transportation for people who live in their own homes, are isolated, and could benefit from having a friend and support.

CHUM is Churches United in Ministry
How can I be the hands and feet of Christ in this world? Have you wondered how you might help those in need? If so, we has many opportunities available for its member churches.
Perhaps you'd like to feed the hungry? Currently the food shelf is most in need of canned fruit and juices. They are also looking for volunteers to interview and pack groceries on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.
Maybe you would prefer to provide clean clothes for parents and children who are homeless? The Family Shelter is requesting laundry gift certificates from Dee Laundry and Cleaners in $20 increments.

Please contact our church CHUM delegate, Tricia Mattson, at triciamattson@live.com or 390-3678 if you or your church group needs more details. See additional information at www.chumduluth.org.
