	COOKIES FOR SENIORS- - We are asking for donations of cookies - to be packaged and delivered to some of our older members and friends. Please bring cookies and if possible, come join us in packing and delivering them on Monday, December 14th at 9:00. Cookies can also be brought Sunday the 13th. If you would like cookies delivered to a special person, please call the church office at 724-9210 or Shirley Sholund at 724-4725. Thanks! Your gift can be given through your church offering. Cards are available to send to your friend or loved one so that they know that a gift has been sent in their name. Love is a gift. There is a Giving Catalog in the narthex along with gift cards on the World Hunger bulletin board. Give a gift in honor of a friend or loved one. It will make you both feel good.

	The Food Shelf
	CLIENT CHOICE - Most of us take for granted the choices we make with each trip to the grocery store. We are in control and choose the foods we like and know that our families will eat. The Food Shelf is excited to now offer people an opportunity to “shop” for their food. Choices are based on an individual’s nutritional needs for 5 days, as outlined in the current USDA Food Pyramid. Volunteers explain the new system to clients and guide them through the Food Shelf.
	Sunshine Program
	Since Marlene Johnson's death our congregation has not has a Sunshine Person to send cards on behalf of our membership. Gloria Albrecht has accepted the job and will be asking our members to contact her when a card should be sent to anyone who has had an illness, a hospital stay and surgery, birth of a baby, or a special honor for a congratulatory message. Gloria's phone number is 730-0255. If you have new Thinking of You cards that you would like to donate to the Sunshine wishes you can find Gloria in apartment 201 at Woodland Gardens. Call first to be sure that she is home. Or you can drop them off at church. Gloria will accept used cards that she can use to make postcards. These cards should be similar in weight to regular postcards. The four fold cards are too thin. Single fold cards work best but the left side in the opened card should have no writing. Thank you Gloria for accepting this job on behalf of our congregation!
	Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry
	Look for our new website coming soon. A special thanks to all who attended VLM’s Annual meeting. Much was accomplished and we had 90 people attending. Thanks also to Mary Thydean for her wonderful lunch, the volunteers who helped serve & clean up and United in Christ Eveleth for hosting the meeting. If you are interested in VLM volunteer positions please call Joy Halstead at 218-780-4116. We are looking for the following: Artists in Residence, Camp Pastors & Houseboat Drivers. Various positions are still open for counselors, kitchen cooks and assistants. 2010 SCHEDULE is filling up! Schedule your Day Camp, BWCAW Canoe Trip, Houseboat trip for next year. The Summer Brochure has been mailed. Remember to register early to get the week of you choice.
