Several weeks ago the Ministry Formation Team (MFT) gathered persons interested in seeing Sunday School (SS) get off the ground this fall. Five individuals with the MFT shared their SS experiences and their hopes for the coming year. Since that meeting one person volunteered to lead but then got called back to work. We are in need of a team leader.
It was voiced that when young families attend our Sunday worship they are looking for a structured Sunday School program. And that some do not come back or leave because of it.
Many of us taught SS years ago and thought those days were over... but pray about your part in teaching our FOG children. We need a multitude of gifts to produce a successful experience for all.
Or you may be sitting in the pew curious and thinking since you have never taught before that you couldn't do it. However, we all started right where you are now. It is one of the most informing and inspirational ways of using your gifts. You end up learning far more than the kids.
Please continue to pray for this ministry as it is primary in our church.

CLIENT CHOICE - Most of us take for granted the choices we make with each trip to the grocery store. We are in control and choose the foods we like and know that our families will eat. The Food Shelf is excited to now offer people an opportunity to “shop” for their food. Choices are based on an individual’s nutritional needs for 5 days, as outlined in the current USDA Food Pyramid. Volunteers explain the new system to clients and guide them through the Food Shelf. |

Sunshine Program

Since Marlene Johnson's death our congregation has not has a Sunshine Person to send cards on behalf of our membership.
Gloria Albrecht has accepted the job and will be asking our members to contact her when a card should be sent to anyone who has had an illness, a hospital stay and surgery, birth of a baby, or a special honor for a congratulatory message. Gloria's phone number is 730-0255.
If you have new Thinking of You cards that you would like to donate to the Sunshine wishes you can find Gloria in apartment 201 at Woodland Gardens. Call first to be sure that she is home. Or you can drop them off at church. Gloria will accept used cards that she can use to make postcards. These cards should be similar in weight to regular postcards. The four fold cards are too thin. Single fold cards work best but the left side in the opened card should have no writing.
